Role Overview
The Sailing Club Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of St. Margaret Sailing Club, ensuring efficient resource management, exceptional member and visitor experiences, and alignment with the club’s mission and strategic goals. This individual will act as the central point of contact for members, staff, volunteers, and visitors, fostering collaboration and community engagement.
Our club teems with activity during the weekends throughout the sailing season from late May to early September. Our members expect the clubhouse to remain available during those weekends, with the exception of special events. You may need to accommodate special events and rentals in the evenings on occasion.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
Oversee daily club and marina operations, ensuring facility maintenance, safety compliance, and efficient vendor management.Staff and Volunteer Coordination
Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise staff while supporting and organizing volunteers.Member Engagement
Act as the main contact for members, manage communications, and enhance engagement through events and programs.Financial Oversight
Monitor budgets and collaborate with our accountant to ensure accurate record-keeping.Event and Program Management
Plan and execute sailing programs, regattas, and club events while managing external rentals.Strategic Collaboration
Work with the board to align operations with the club’s mission, contribute to long-term planning, and represent the club in the community.
Required Qualifications
Proven experience in club or marina management, hospitality, or a similar role.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with a passion for fostering community.
Excellent organizational abilities.
Proficiency in budget management and financial oversight.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Familiarity with digital tools for event planning, membership management, and communications.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of sailing or marine operations is highly preferred.
Any of the following: PCOC, ROC(M), Serve Right, Food Handler Certification, Safe Sport Training
Experience in volunteer management.
Marketing and promotional experience to increase member engagement and visibility.
Experience with systems such as Quickbooks Online, Squarespace, Office365 and Square.

2 week winter holiday shut-down (weeks including Dec 25th and Jan 1st)
$50/month mobile phone allowance
