Waterfront FAQ
Where do I get detailed information about our waterfront facilities and their usage?
Please find the detailed information here in our SMSC Waterfront Information, Requirements, and Guidelines document (revised as of April 28th, 2024).
Do you have fuel or pump-out service?
No. Due to municipal regulations and local covenants, we are not permitted to offer these services. These services are however available at the nearby Shining Waters Marina.
Can my friend use my slip or mooring while I am away?
No. This is one of the terms of your rental agreement. Your slip is assigned specifically to your vessel. When you are away, we take the opportunity to allow visitors to rent our vacant slips.
How much is power and water service?
There is no charge for power and water services. These are complimentary services at our marina.
How long can I leave my boat on the Courtesy Dock?
You are welcome to stay on the Courtesy Dock to allow passengers to embark or disembark. We also understand loading provisions can take some time, or you may have dog that needs go ashore. We ask that you don’t leave your boat unattended.
Can I use my current slip for my new boat?
Only if the you receive confirmation via email by SMSC. Your new boat may no longer be safe for your existing slip. Or, your new vessel may have more slip options, allowing us to move your vessel to maximize occupancy or maximizing the safety of the entire marina. There is a chance that we simply cannot accommodate your new vessel on a slip, and you may need to go to a mooring.
Will my vessel be assigned a slip or mooring again next year?
Yes, if you do all of the following:
Pay the non-refundable 50% deposit for your mooring or slip by the given date, normally 28 after invoiced.
Pay 100% of your outstanding waterfront and membership fees by May 1st.
Land the same vessel as the previous year.
Even if you change your vessel, SMSC will make best efforts to re-assign you the same slip or mooring. However, SMSC may re-assign you to a different slip or mooring at anytime to maximize occupancy and safety of the entire marina. After making best efforts, it may not be possible to accommodate your new vessel on a slip. You may need to be assigned a mooring.
