Celebrate Chinese New Year’s at SMSC

Make your plans now to join us on Saturday, February 21, 2026 for SMSC’s Annual Chinese New Year’s Event. This ever-popular event sells out fast, so get your tickets early and plan to join your hosts Gretchen and Mike Amirault, Lorraine Helson and Michelle Lane for a delicious Chinese meal.

Hot appetizers will be served at 6:15, followed by dinner promptly at 7. Dinner includes Bok Choi Salad, Asian Noodles, Teriyaki Pork Tenderloin, Hot Rice and Desserts. Tickets are $30 per person for members and $35 per person for non-members and must be purchased no later than 5 pm on Wednesday, February 18, 2026. Please advise us of any special dietary needs in advance and your hosts will do their best to accommodate.

Romantic live music, love poetry and good cheer are waiting for those still looking for a friendly place on Feb. 13th. Join us for a romantic-ish pub night at SMSC. We’ll do our best to make your evening unique.

Join us for a rollicking night of feasting, music & poetry befitting the bard himself! Our very own Nova Scotian, Ian McKinnon from Rawlins Cross, will address and pipe in the haggis while we toast the hearty fare with a wee dram of McLellan’s Scotch.

Scottish music and Burns poetry will warm your spirit while you indulge in the hearty “denner” of shepherds pie, (vegan option available), ham, haggis, neeps & tatties. Scotch cookies and tea for dessert.

Wear your kilt if you dare or your clan tartan or “New Scotland” attire!

Come and join other Members who wish to take their Serve-It-Right Certification. Bring your laptop, take the course and get your Certificate at the same time.

If there is enough time, we will also go over the standard bar-opening and closing routines.

The kitchen bar glowing as Werner Hofstätter, our volunteer bartender, serves up a glass of whiskey. Someone begins plucking a ukulele, the nearby fiddle finds its voice, and the guitar player chimes in with a grin. Before you know it, the clubhouse is swaying with voices filled with good ol’ east coast merriment.

Join us for a tied-and-true Nova Scotia Kitchen Party! Bring your instruments, your singing voice, or enjoy the music from the sidelines. It’s sure to be a foot-stomping Nova Scotian night!

Our Annual General Meeting will be held November 6th, starting at 6:00pm. The AGM is more than tradition… it’s the moment we gather to hear the final report of 2025, elect our next Board of Directors, and, we hope, welcome a new Commodore to the helm.
