Young Life Mix and Mingle
Join us Sat. May 23rd for a mix and mingle info night 7-9 pm! Come and enjoy free mocktails, music and a short presentation to learn more about Young Life, a charity helping youth in the Maritimes.
This is a free, family-friendly, non-member sponsored event but all Members are welcome.

SMSC Special General Meeting
A general meeting of the membership to consider a special resolution on an amendment of the bylaws and to consult the membership on possible changes to membership structure to promote membership growth. Program updates will also be given.
Annual Fish Fry
The Annual Fish Fry, one of SMSC's oldest traditions, harks back to the days when our power boat members went fishing and brought in their catch to fry. With a great recipe for the fish, and an opportunity to get together, our founding members started a tradition that’s still enjoyed today. We’ve changed locations and buy the fish, but it's local, fresh and prepared the same way by our "Master Chefs."
This event is by advance ticket purchase only. Order your tickets early to avoid disappointment! Open to SMSC members and their guests.
Full Meal Deal:
Locally-caught Fresh Pan Fried Haddock served with lemon slices and tartar sauce or Vegan “Fish” Cakes made with jackfruit and chickpeas served with lemon slices and vegan tartar sauce (make your main course selection at checkout)

An SMSC House Concert with Colleen Power!
Colleen Power’s accomplishments span award‑winning albums, national chart success, bilingual cultural leadership, children’s music, broadcasting, and long‑term influence on Newfoundland and Canadian folk music.
She is widely regarded as one of Newfoundlands most original and enduring musical voices. She last toured the Maritimes in 2009 before taking a break to raise her family.

SMSC Spring Clean-Up and After Party
Our new season begins with our Annual Spring Clean-Up! Come help your fellow members prepare our clubhouse, grounds and marina. We will be deploying the slips the same day. The day begins at 10am.
Sign up or show up! If you’d like to see what you can bring with you, please visit our Spring Clean-Up Sign-Up Form. But don’t let not signing up deter you from just showing up! Many hands make light work!
This year we’ll be tending to any beach rocks at low tide. We’ll need the roads repaired, yard clean up with any trees and brush cleared and trimmed. In the clubhouse, we’ll clean and condition the floors, wash the windows, clean out the fridges, bar, and cupboards, and downstairs cleared out winter stored boats and bring the patio furniture back on the deck. To name a few tasks!
If you have any equipment you can bring to help out in these tasks, please do.
As members, this is our Club and it’s up to us to keep it in shipshape condition. We need a large turnout to keep things fair.
Free non-alcoholic beverages and pizza will be provided at lunchtime. With specials on Draught Beer, Draught Cider and House Wine during the Happy Hour after-party.
To assist with planning, we will ask you to register in advance.

Spring has sprung, so bring your dance shoes and your favourite bell bottoms (or hammer pants) to dance to the retro tunes of the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and beyond! 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes for best costume!
Some of our favourite club musicians including Bernard O’Grady, Clark Everett and Ted Mussett will entertain you with groovy sounds of years gone by.
Retro dishes include pizza, (vegetarian available) and Caesar salad and make your own banana splits!

We invite community members from Tantallon, Peggy's Cove, and Dover to join this event. Members of Nova Scotia Power's Reliability Team will address the reliability plans and answer questions.
Women's Book Club
Ladies, please join our monthly Women’s Book Club at SMSC, hosted by various book loving Members. Books will generally be about politics, relationships and women's issues. Literary enthusiasts will explore novels chosen by group members that are accessible and entertaining. Our Women’s Book Club meets the first Thursday of each month at 7:00pm.
