Social
Membership
$295 + HST
Are you seeking to socially engage with your local community? A Social Membership is a great way to meet new people, and learn more about St. Margaret’s Bay.
Benefits:
Access to free and premium events.
Access to clubhouse and grounds.
Sign-in up to four guests during most events.
Crew during race nights.
10% discounts for clubhouse rentals.
5% discount on Learn-to-Sail programs.
Small watercraft storage for a fee.
No initiation fee required.
Restrictions:
Limited to the applicant, their spouse/partner, and dependent children, up to age 25, all residing at the same address.
No marina or mooring access for your vessel.
Cannot be “Person-in-Charge” of vessel during race nights.
You are not considered a Boating member.
You cannot vote at Members’ Meetings.
Full
Membership
$720 + HST
Are a boater who cruises or races, or you are planning on becoming a tenant of the SMSC waterfront? A Full Membership gives you full access to our facilities and other benefits.
Benefits:
All of the benefits of a Social Membership.
Become a tenant of the marina or mooring field for a fee.
Race your vessel during Race Nights and Regattas.
50% discount for clubhouse rentals.
10% discount on Learn-to-Sail programs.
Free small watercraft storage.
Free boat launch usage.
Access to reciprocal agreements with other clubs as a “Boating Member”, including The Ironbound League of Clubs.
Discounted short-term slip and mooring rentals.
One vote at Members Meetings.
Initiation:
First-time Full Members must pay a $500+HST initiation fee (payable over 3 years).
Visitor’s Racing
Membership
$75 + HST
Are you interested in racing your own vessel in our keelboat races, but not yet ready to commit to a Full Membership? Our Visitor’s Racing Membership could be just right for you.
Benefits:
Register and race your vessel in three (3) Keelboat Races per season, but without eligibility for series placings.
Participate in social activities held on the days you race.
May be renewed for two subsequent years.
Includes the $30 Sail Nova Scotia fee.
Should you hold a Visitor Racing membership, and wish to join as a Full member, your $75 Visitor’s Racing Membership fee will be applied to a Full Membership in the year you change membership types.
Restrictions:
Limited to the applicant.
Visitor’s Racing Privileges apply only on the days on which the visitor races.
Visitor’s Racing Memberships require the approval of the Keelboat Racing Fleet Captain.
You cannot vote at Members’ Meetings.
At Sea Membership
$78 + HST
Are you a Full member who will be out of Nova Scotia for the boating season? You can maintain your membership with an At Sea Membership. Send an email to operations@smsc.ca to arrange for an At Sea Membership.
Junior Membership
$84 + HST
If you are under age 30, our Junior Membership may be just right for you. Contact our Operations Manager at operations@smsc.ca for additional information.
