Learn to Sail Parent Session Recap

Hello everyone,

Thanks to those of you who were able to join us for the Learn to Sail Parent meeting on Thursday, February 17. We had an opportunity to introduce our 2022 Head Coach (Rebecca Swan), discuss programming options, dates, and other helpful points. Please find attached the Power Point slide we presented at last night's meeting. A few things to keep in mind:

• Summer Sailing Camp registration is March 1 for St. Margaret Sailing Club (SMSC) members, followed by March 8 for everyone else. Note that SMSC members receive a discount on their programming fees.

• Registration will take place on our website - www.smsc.ca.

• If you have questions about which program is best for your child, please email learntosail@smsc.ca prior to March 1 to provide our coach with time to reply to your question.

• The Learn to Sail Committee is always looking for help and volunteers and there is something for everyone - you do not need to know anything about sailing or boats to help out in many important areas! Please email learntosail@smsc.ca if you would like to be placed on our volunteer list.

We briefly referenced that SMSC is partnering with the Hubbards Sailing Club to host the World Championships for three Olympic classes: 49ers, 49erFX and Nacra 17 this summer. This is an amazing opportunity to watch world-class sailing, right in our backyard. There are also numerous volunteer opportunities which will help you and your family get close to the action.
