Tips for New Racers and Crew Members

  • St. Margaret Sailing Club 5 Foxberry Hill Road Glen Haven, NS, B3Z 2W2 Canada (map)

Our last keelboat racing seminar before the season starts will take place on Wednesday, May 31st at 7:00. The doors (and bar) will open at 6:00.

This session is for skippers and crew members who have either never raced before or are still relatively new to the sport. Alex MacPhee, who has been racing at SMSC for 12 years, will give a presentation aimed at encouraging people to try racing (or try it again), and making sure everyone has fun and stays safe.

Topics will include:

  •  Why race?

  • Potential concerns about racing, and

  • Things to do before race day, on race day, at the start line, during the race, and after the race.

There will be lots of opportunity for discussion and questions.

Open to the public. Advance registration is required.
