We’re Hiring for the Race Committee

• Temporary role: 4-10hrs/week, June to October

• Salary: $20-$25/hr, based on experience, +4% vacation pay 

Do you have passion for sailing or spending time on-the-water? Hoping for some part-time hours? Look no further! St. Margaret Sailing Club is on the lookout for a dynamic individual to join our team as a Race Committee Member!

Position Overview:

As a Race Committee Member, you'll play a pivotal role in organizing and overseeing our thrilling sailing races. From setting courses to managing race logistics, your enthusiasm and attention to detail will ensure smooth sailing for all participants.

Key Responsibilities:

• Setting up race courses and markers

• Coordinating with sailors and volunteers during races

• Executing the race start sequence

• Ensuring adherence to safety protocols and racing rules 

• Assisting with timing and recording race results

• Applying racing handicaps and announcing final results

Qualifications:

• Familiarity with racing rules (experience preferred but not required)

• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

• Reliable and punctual

• Hold a valid boating license

• Comfortable operating a power boat

• Race committee training or willingness to undergo training (Sailing Club will cover costs with a commitment to work the full race season)
