Saturday, August 10 to Sunday, August 11, 2024

St. Margaret Sailing Club’s (SMSC) annual keel boat regatta, The St. Margaret’s Bay Regatta (Regatta) will be held on Saturday, August 10th and Sunday August 11th, 2024. This is the weekend before Chester Race Week making it an opportunity for those going onto Chester to hone their skills.

The Regatta is a great event for sailors of all levels.  Races will be held under three classes racing on a time on time basis. The split of the fleet between A and B handicap classes will be determined after the close of registration and there will be a C handicap class (‘Cruiser’) for those boats racing with fore-and-aft sails only and without spinnakers (e.g., Jib and main for sloops).

The person in charge (ordinarily, but not necessarily the entrant) of a competing boat must be a member of a club affiliated with Sail Canada.

Up to three races will be held for each class starting at 12:00 noon on Saturday, August 10th. Coffee is available Saturday morning beginning at 8:30. After the races on Saturday evening there is a BBQ with entertainment.

Moorings for visiting boats will be provided free of charge for two days over the Regatta (August 10th and August 11th) and a total of a further 7 days at at discounted rate per day before or after the Regatta.  Tender services will be provided for visiting boats on their arrival and departure from SMSC and during the Regatta.  Please call 902 823 1089 or email to operations@smsc.ca to make reservations for a mooring and to arrange for tender service on your arrival.

Registration information and additional information will be available further below closer to the regatta date.
