Learn to Sail
St. Margaret Bay Sailing Club's Junior Sail programs are a great way to stay active and have fun during the summer months. Learn how your young sailors can spend their days enjoying life on the water!
Take our ‘Set Sail’ Program. This very popular and successful annual learn-to-sail program takes place over two nights and a weekend in late June. It is an excellent introduction to sailing or as a refresher. The majority of the course is in the form of practical instruction at sea and on members’ boats. What a great way to learn and maybe get to crew with a few of the skippers after the course.
This program sells out every year; book early!
Adult Dinghy Lessons
Want to jump into a dingy and get a little wet? St Margaret Sailing Club is pleased to offer adult dinghy sailing lessons with one on one instruction. These sessions can be booked with the link to the below email address. Lessons will be in our club 420s (the same ones as many of our junior sailors use during the day). All skill levels are encouraged to come out and learn.
You will need to bring a personal floation device (PFD), closed toe shoes for sailing (no rubber boots but crocs are okay) and a change of clothes as you will get wet. We do advise you to bring a wetsuit if you have one. Instruction will be rain or shine although if a large storm is coming we may postpone a session.
